Here are a couple of photos of the Strawberry Tarts. I wanted a nice bright and sunny feel with a shock of red, which I think I’ve managed. The pastry is shortcrust, the filling is mascarpone cheese mixed with icing sugar and the glaze is jam brushed on with a pastry brush.  Not exactly healthy but pretty tasty…

Quite a productive week, trying to get work out of the way before a long weekend where no work will be possible due to a my girlfriends birthday night out and then a trip to Amsterdam! Rather excited.

I got another photo done for my graded unit on the Wednesday. Not homemade jam I’m afraid as I couldn’t justify the time or money into making three large jars of homemade jam for this one photo.

I did however make some strawberry tarts which I took a quick snap of with my phone. These were then taken into the studio on Thursday and photographed properly! I’ve not edited the photos yet but they should be up shortly. In the meantime here are the tarts just after I’d made them…

Welcome to my blog!

This is my first venture into the blogoshpere so this is all new and exciting to me. The plan is to have this as my blog and also a home for my photos, at least until I have a fancy website up and running and then my portfolio will be re-housed but I will carry on this blog.

There will be a lot of food photography here, especially in the coming weeks as I continue with my Graded Unit for my course, but I will include anything and everything that takes my fancy.

I intend to update the blog on a weekly basis (I’ll be interested to see if I manage that) so keep checking back and hopefully there will be something new!
